It is my pleasure to welcome you to the City of
Enterprise, the City of Progress!
As a city in the southeastern corner of the state, Enterprise, Alabama, is privileged to have a diverse population mix, due in part to nearby Fort Rucker, the home of Army Aviation. Aviators from more than 60 countries train at this installation.
People from all over the world choose Enterprise as their home, whether they are on a military assignment or are retiring with us. We are a thriving community where gracious living and a modern way of life come together to create a feeling of old South charm, mixed with new South vitality.
The city has many beautiful parks, the most famous of which is the Enterprise Recreational Complex on Highway 167 North. The park offers a playground, ball fields, a lighted walking trail that encircles the lake, a bridge that crosses the lake to accommodate those with disabilities, picnic tables, and swings. This is the best place to go to enjoy the Enterprise, Alabama breeze or to take the kids to expel some energy on the colorful playground.
Shopping and dining opportunities are all over the city. Enterprise is home to several locally owned restaurants, each famous for a trademark meal. The downtown area houses specialty shops where visitors can pick-up hand-made Enterprise souvenirs or enjoy some homemade ice cream.
The City is also rich in history. The Boll Weevil Monument is located in the center of downtown and is the only monument in the world that glorifies an insect. The Depot Museum is located just down from the monument and has Enterprise artifacts and information from the city’s beginning. Fort Rucker houses the Army Aviation Museum for those interested in the history of military flight.
Wherever you came from and wherever you are going, I am sure you will enjoy your visit or stay in the City of Enterprise. We look forward to having you.
