November 28, 2007- Hundreds of rosie-cheeked children of all ages braved chilly temperatures to welcome in the holiday season at the 2007 Downtown Christmas Parade on November 27th. The annual event sponsored by the City of Enterprise and the Chamber of Commerce featured over 100 entries marching and rolling down Main Street.
The theme of this year's event was "The Gift Of Education". Honorary Grand Marshalls Dr. Jim Reese, Superintendent of the Enterprise City School System, Rick Rainer, Principal of Enterprise High School and Hugh Williams, Principal of Hillcrest Elementary presided over the festive ocassion.
Awards for best floats were given in 4 categories: Commercial-1st place Goolsby Plumbing & Electric, 2nd place Medical Center Enterprise, and 3rd place Kelly's Heating & Cooling. In the Commercial/rental division, 1st place Enterprise-Ozark Community College, 2nd place Pilgrim's Pride, and 3rd WestGate Shopping Center. In the non-profit category, 1st place went to the Enterprise Titans football team, 2nd to the City of Daleville& the Daleville Chamber of Commerce, and 3rd to the City of Hartford. And in the Religious category, 1st place went to Chancellor Assembly of God, 2nd to Love's Way Church Youth Group, and 3rd to St. Luke United Methodist Church.
